These two vital parts develop simultaneouly but in opposite direction thus maintaining the balance of the overall organism. The group Vershki da Koreshki grew in the same way: the roots are formed by two descendants of ancient cultures of Africa (Senegal) and Central Asia (Tuva). The leaves are two compatriots from Saint Petersburg who are nourished by jazz, classical and contemporary music and improvisation. The synthesis of these seemingly contradictory elements results in the band's great freedom of style and concept. http://rapidshare.com/files/340904552/W_Fusion_1996_VershkiDaKoreshki.rar Links checked on 03/11/08 by link checker bot

The Birthday Party & Lydia Lunch Drunk On The Pope’s Blood Album : Drunk On The Pope’ Blood Artist : The Birthday Party & Lydia Lunch Release Date : 1982 Genre : Punk-Rock Total time : 00:24:03 Total size : 33,1 MB Tracks : The Birthday Party - Drunk On The Pope's Blood 1. Birthday Party Pleasure Heads (3:40) 2. Birthday Party King Ink (6:02) 3. Birthday Party Zoo-Music Girl (3:00) 4. Birthday Party Loose (5:33) Lydia Lunch - The Agony Is The Ecstacy 5. Lydia Lunch The Agony Is The Ecstacy (16:31) @192 Kbit/s mp3 So much mumbo-jumbo's been made of adolescent art, of pop or rock voicing the vainglorious views of each new generation, washing the sins of the fathers (and mothers) from the hands of the kids, that it's long been forgotten that the real truth lies in tantrum. Most lucrative noise is - and always has been - made by (non) musicians old enough to know better, but never prepared to admit or accept it. It's not a well-aimed kick against growing up and its values, but a blind sulk and shout about already being there. Pop is a toddler's plea for selfish attention, a "me, me, me, me" not an "I told you so". It's mean and it's meaningless. And that's its great beauty. The Birthday Party, more than most, appreciate the perverse practicality of making a row. They're obnoxious, so much so that they piss people off. Not only the cliched old fuddy-duddies and traditional church wardens, but also the hipsters and boffins who fawn and dote over pop flash and fact. The Birthday Party are awful. Subversively awful. Awfully great. Awesomely brilliant. "Drunk On The Pope's Blood" is their second really BAD long-playing record. Recorded live at the Venue, it struggles - in vain - to capture and/or castrate the ranting confrontation of their stage act. "Get involved ... say something!" Nick Cave screams while Beefheart is brutally butchered behind. Back beyond basics, this is what punk ought to be like - angry and futile with nothing to say and barely the words to express it. The critics turn pop into protest because that gives it a comforting logic, an aim and direction that renders it open to sane comprehension. Sheer bloody-minded pointlessness is too mad and too menacing. The Birthday Party are violently pointless. That's why they're important. Their "16 minutes of sheer hell" is all ugly feedback. Unlistenably listenable. Love it to death. Lydia Lunch's unpleasant squawking on the other side is even more potent. I hate it. It neither exasperates nor elevates. It irritates. And that, or course, is exactly the point. Ah art! Don't you just love it? - Steve Sutherland - Melody Maker, February 27, 1982 (Source: Burning Heart - Rowland S. He is regarded as an icon of the Arab town vocal art and author of a vast musical spiritual repertory. Born in Aleppo in 1962, he grew up in religious circles and attended the rituals of the dhikr from a very early age, presided over by his father, the Shaykh Muhammad Sarmini. Thus the father was able to guide the son by inculcating in him the most essential elements of the sacred repertory. Omar Sarmini then continued his musical education with the city's Arab Youth Club. So, like every self-respecting singer, his education has included an obligatory passage via the sacred repertory of Islam. He is currently one of the rising stars on the musical scene in Syria. Sinister Minister, The 10. Flight Of The Cosmic Hippo @192 Kbit/s mp3 Amazon.com Something of a retrospective, Live Art is a treat for both newcomers and aficionados of the eye-popping artistry that is Bela Fleck, not to mention his more-than-capable partners in crime, bassist Victor Wooten and percussionist (well, it's not exactly a drum set he plays) Future Man. This two-disc set features live performances spanning a four-year period, with several guest appearances: Branford Marsalis sits in on "Flying Saucer Dudes," Chick Corea is featured on "The Message," and Bruce Hornsby appears on "More Luv." Several never-before-recorded songs appear here as well--the Scottish-inflected "Lochs of Dread," among others. Favorites like "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo," "UFO Tofu," and "Sinister Minister" are here as well, making this a well-rounded, enjoyable collection for any Fleck fan. Jazz? Folk? Bluegrass? Who knows, but whatever it is, it's well worth hearing. --Genevieve Williams Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/271198185/J_Fleck_1996__Live_Art__192.part1.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/271202063/J_Fleck_1996__Live_Art__192.part2.rar

The Birthday Party – Junkyard Album : Junkyard Artist : The Birthday Party Release Date : 1982 Genre : Punk-Rock Total time : 00:47:00 Total size : 64,7 MB Tracks : 1. Blast Off 2. She's Hit 3. Dead Joe 4. Dim Locator, The 5. Hamlet (Pow, Pow, Pow) 6. Several Sins 7. Big-Jesus-Trash-Can 8. Kiss Me Black 9. 6" Gold Blade 10. Kewpie Doll 11. Junkyard 12. Dead Joe - (2nd version) 13. Release the Bats @192 Kbit/s mp3 This is the Birthday Party's second official album (their first, Australian-only, release was put out under both the Birthday Party moniker and their old name Boys Next Door). The unbridled fury of JUNKYARD's predecessor PRAYERS ON FIRE is subdued here, but the guitars' sinister scrape and whine and Nick Cave's demon-possessed, beat-poet vocals create a deliciously unnerving din nevertheless. "Big Jesus Trash-Can" comes off like an amphetamine-crazed, post-punk version of the Doors' "W.A.S.P. (Texas Radio & the Big Beat)," while Cave's ranting on the almost jazzy "Release the Bats" suggests an unholy confluence of Count Dracula, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Rotten. Throughout the album, the Birthday Party grinds no-wave guitar, free-jazz craziness, and punk-processed Captain Beefheart angularity in their own twisted blender. Evolution is hinted at by the presence of several less chaotic tracks that exploit the kind of horror-movie swamp-blues that would typify the group's final recordings, and Cave's early solo effort. Ali Farka Toure & Ry Cooder Talking Timbuktu Album : Talking Timbuktu Artist : Ali Farka Toure & Ry Cooder Release Date : 1994 Label : World Circuit Number of Discs: 1 Genre : World Total time : 01:00:03 Total size : 82,6 MB Tracks : 1. Bonde 2. Soukora 3. Gomni 4. Sega 5. Amandrai 6. Lasidan 7. Keito 8. Banga 9. Ai Du 10. Diaraby @ 192 Kbit/s mp3 Amazon.com Talking Timbuktu is a groundbreaking record that vividly illustrates the Africa-Blues connection in real time. Ali Farka Toure, one of Mali's leading singer-guitarists, has a trance-like, bluesy style that, although deeply rooted in Malian tradition, bears astonishing similarity to that of John Lee Hooker or even Canned Heat. It's a mono-chordal vamp, with repetitive song lines cut with shards of blistering solo runs that shimmer like a desert mirage. Toure may be conversant with some blues artists, but it is unlikely that artists like Hooker or Robert Pete Williams ever heard these Malian roots, which makes the connection so uncanny. Ry Cooder, well versed in domestic and world guitar styles, is the perfect counterpoint in these extended songs/jams, his sinewy slide guitar intertwining with his partner's in a super world summit without barriers or borders. --Derek Rath Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/318524448/W_Africa_1994_FarkaTimbuktu__192.rar

Leonard Cohen Recent Songs Album : Recent Songs Artist : Leonard Cohen Release Date : 1990 Original Release Date : 1979 Lable : Sony Number of Discs : 1 Total time : 00:53:02 Total size : 121 MB (mp3), 233 MB (FLAC & CUE) Tracks : 1. Guests, The 2. Humbled in Love 3. Window, The 4. Came So Far For Beauty 5. Lost Canadian, The 6. Traitor, The 7. Our Lady of Solitude 8. Gypsy's Wife, The 9. Smokey Life, The 10. Ballad of the Absent Mare @320 Kbit/s mp3 + FLAC & CUE "I Came So Far For Beauty" finds Cohen in a familiar self-effacing mode, recounting his vain search for the perfect muse. Like NEW SKIN's "There is a War," "The Traitor" effectively analyzes personal travails through militaristic metaphor, over semi-classical backing. The closing "Ballad of the Absent Mare," later covered by Emmylou Harris, comes off like an epic prose poem in the classic ballad style, but its slight cowboy lilt provides a nice contrast to the lyric. RECENT SONGS is arguably Cohen's most mature '70s effort. After recovering from his traumatic studio experiences with Phil Spector on DEATH OF A LADIES MAN (Spector was said to have brandished a gun at some point), Cohen retreated to friendlier sonic climes. Aided by co-producer Henry Lewy, he filled RECENT SONGS with stately songpoems marked by lush (but never overdone), elegant arrangements. While there was always a pronounced literary streak in Cohen's work, the songs here find him at his most purely poetic, more the chansonnier than the troubadour. Rock stars with classical roots, their music showcases the place where tradition meets youthful irreverence. Their sound is at once rooted firmly in the ancestral sounds of northern Japan, while infused with the energy of contemporary interpretation. HISHOU continues the exploration of marrying new phrasings to traditional sounds. The result is at once sentimental and respectful of the past, while also forging a sonic bridge to the future. Having explored rock and world music themes in previous releases, this album marks a return to basics for the brothers, highlighting their commitment to and reverence for the historic art of Tsugaru-Shamisen. Angelique Kidjo Black Ivory Soul Album : Black Ivory Soul Artist : Angelique Kidjo Release Date : 2002 Label : Columbia Number of Discs: 1 Genre : World Total time : 00:57:00 Total size : 81,6 MB Tracks : 1. Bahia 2. Iwoya - (with Dave Matthews) 3. Olofoofo 4. Tumba 5. Black Ivory Soul 6. Refavela 7. Iemanja 8. Afrika 9. Okanbale 10. Ominira 11. Mondjuba 12. Ces Petits Riens @ VBR mp3 BLACK IVORY SOUL was nominated for the 2003 Grammy Awards for Best World Music Album. For the Bill Laswell-produced BLACK IVORY SOUL, Angelique Kidjo's first album since 1998's OREMI, the world music diva explores the link between the Brazilian city of Bahia and her home country of Benin. Befitting her multi-cultural background, Kidjo worked with an impressive range of talent including Brazilians Carlinhos Brown and Vinicius Cantaria, Roots drummer Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson and soul singer Cindy Mizelle. The result is an album's worth of music that's very much percussion-driven and peppered with plenty of irresistible grooves ranging from the life affirming "Tumba," (which is the name for congas in Benin), to the airy, acoustic guitar-dappled "Ominira" (Yoruba for freedom). Among the few English-language songs are the funky title track with its Fela-lite backbeat and the infectious "Iwoya," seemingly a stab at college radio airplay by way of guest Dave Matthews's vocal contribution. Kidjo also continues her penchant for unusual covers--this time out, Serge Gainsbourg's "Ces Petits Riens" is given a delicate rendering and Gilberto Gil's "Refavela" benefits from a sassy, percussion-soaked interpretation sung in the African dialect of Fon. BLACK IVORY SOUL is a glimpse at what the future of global pop looks like entering the 21st Century. Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/310797206/W_Africa_2002_KidjoBlackIvoryl.rar

Willie Nelson & Wynton Marsalis Two Men with the Blues Album : Two Men with the Blues Artist : Willie Nelson & Wynton Maralis Release Date : 2008 Label : Blue Note Records Genre : Jazz Total time : 00:53:29 Total size : 84,7 MB Tracks : 01. Bright Lights Big City 02. Night Life 03. Caldonia 04. Stardust 05. Basin Street Blues 06. Georgia On My Mind 07. Rainy Day Blues 08. My Bucket's Got A Hole In It 09. Ain't Nobody's Business 10. That's All @192 mp3 Amazon.com Two Men with the Blues is no more a jazz album than a blues album. It's neither jazz returning home, nor blues wandering out. What Willie Nelson and Wynton Marsalis have created is a compilation of jump-blues standards with arrangements that compliment both genres. While most of the album is careful not to take itself too seriously, there are a few tracks that seem to plod on for ages. The live set kicks off with the upbeat "Bright Lights, Big City," on which Marsalis' horn is crisp and full. "Ain't Nobody's Business" and "Basin Street Blues" are arranged slower than better known versions but still fit the album's context. Nelson and Marsalis's take on "Stardust" comes off as a bit too "Sinatra" for Nelson's thin vocal, while "Georgia on My Mind" just doesn't work at all. Still, the things that work, work well. "Night Life" and "Rainy Day Blues" are particular stand-outs, and "Caldonia" is a faithful homage to the Louis Jordan original--minus Jordan's screaming punch line, of course. The album ends riding high on the last song, "That's All," with its straight-out-of-a-New-Orleans-Baptist-church feel. Both Nelson and Marsalis are notorious for collaborating with other artists. Therefore, it seems only natural that they've found themselves on a project together. Overall, this set is well worth the wait. --Eric C.P. This is a very "Arabic" performance, concentrating primarily on styles outlined in medieval Spanish texts, but continued in present day Syria. The Al Turath Ensemble of Aleppo is considered to be one of the most prestigious musical groups in Syria, since it upholds the roots of tradition. It was founded in 1954 by Sabri Mudallah, and at one time or another, the most important singers from Aleppo have been part of it. In 1985 Mohammed Hammadye took over as leader and expanded the vocal group by adding an instrumental one. In its repertoire the group includes the moaxajas and traditional songs of Aleppo, as well as songs rooted in Sufi mysticism, and popular songs. The Ensemble´s fame has been fully recognized through its participation in many international festivals. Al Turath´s motto is ´art for art´s sake´, as in their eyes music is the measure of human civilization. Angelique Kidjo Oremi Album : Oremi Artist : Angelique Kidjo Release Date : 1998 Label : ISLAND U.S. Number of Discs: 1 Genre : World Total time : 00:47:47 Total size : 72,5 MB Individual track details : 01 Introduction 00:38 02 Voodoo Child (Slight Return) 03:49 03 Never Know 04:44 04 Babalao 04:30 05 Loloye 03:52 06 Itche Koutche 05:56 07 Open Your Eyes 04:28 08 Yaki Yaki 03:43 09 Give It Up 04:23 10 Oremi 03:48 11 Orubaba 04:16 12 No Worry 03:40 13 We Are One 04:10 @ 224-320 Kbit/s mp3 Comments: Recorded at Quad Studios and Hit Factory, New York, New York; Gravity and Chicago Recording Company, Chicago, Illinois; Downtown Studios, Johannesburg, South Africa. OREMI was nominated for a 1999 Grammy for Best World Music Album. Singer and songwriter Angelique Kidjo has her feet planted in many worlds on OREMI, and it sounds fantastic. A cosmopolitan hailing from Benin, West Africa, Angelique maneuvers gracefully and transcendently across the African Diaspora and back. Her studio assemblage here is a fine one, in that they help her thread tight seams between "urban" sounds, funk, jazz and the pop of her home region, leading to an outstanding production that sounds as organic as it is diverse. "Itche Koutche" is robust street-funk that features special guest Branford Marsalis on soprano sax, blowing a lovely batch of sonic bubbles. "Babalao" does more of the same but with a decidedly Deep Forest feel. Jazz chanteuse Cassandra Wilson adds honey to the sage and mellow "Never Know." While no rendition of Hendrix's "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" may ever rip as ferociously as the original, Kidjo's layered vocal overdubs, jumbo-sized bass lines and down-tempo treatment give it loads of attitude and shine all the same. As she coasts back and forth between her native tongue and English, Kidjo dispenses West African proverbial wisdom in a form both resonant and intensely hip, giving OREMI wide appeal. Ali Farka Toure The Source Album : The ource Artist : Ali Farka Toure Release Date : 1993 Original Release Date : 1991 Label : World Circuit Number of Discs: 1 Genre : World Total time : 01:00:29 Total size : 110 MB Tracks : 1. Mahini Me @ 256 Kbit/s mp3 *********** essential recording The source of the Niger River? The source of the blues? Ali Farka Toure is one of the great African guitarists--one who has experimented in the most subtle of ways, seeking inspiration but never creating fusions with other popular music styles. The Source is more roots and less fronds than his Ry Cooder recording Talking Timbuktu; this earlier recording did find him working with Taj Mahal and harmonica player Rory McLeod, but mostly this is a recording with his amazing band, calabash players Amadou Sisse and Hamma Sankare and conga player Oumar Toure, plus a chorus of singers. The emphasis is on the guitar of Toure and the source of the music, the soil of Mali itself. --Louis Gibson Download: http://rapidshare.com/files/318517951/W_Africa_1991_FarkaSource__256.part1.rar http://rapidshare.com/files/318522246/W_Africa_1991_FarkaSource__256.part2.rar

Kathy's Kisses @192 Kbit/s mp3 Nick Cave is widely acknowledged as one of our most mature songwriting talents these days, but there was a time when he seemed to be the most unhinged soul in Christendom. The Birthday Party's performances, whether in the studio or on stage, were always compelling, and they left behind no more powerful document than this shattering record. PRAYERS ON FIRE, an intense, disquieting effort, was their first international release after relocating to London from Australia. The Boys Next Door – Door, Door Album : Door, Door Artist : The Boys Next Door Release Date : 1978 Genre : Punk-Rock Total time : 00:31:57 Total size : 44 MB Tracks : 1. The Nightwatchman (2:07) 2. Brave Exhibitions (2:27) 3. Friends Of My World (2:46) 4. The Voice (3:55) 5. Roman Roman (1:35) 6. Somebody's Watching (2:39) 7. After A Fashion (4:36) 8. Dive Position (2:47) 9. I Mistake Myself (4:31) 10. Shivers (4:34) @ 192 Kbit/s mp3 If one compares "Door, Door" to later albums made by these soon-to-be-infamous Aussies — albums released under the Birthday Party moniker — it sounds fairly tame and relatively straightforward. But that's not to say there's anything wrong with it. In fact, it's a frantic, edgy, and surprisingly catchy piece of post-punk mayhem; just don't expect anything as original or downright disturbing as "Big-Jesus-Trash-Can" or "Zoo-Music Girl." The album starts out in high gear with "The Nightwatchman," replete with ringing guitar figures, a boppy punk-pop chorus (yes, those are "ooh-ooh-ooh-oohs" you're hearing), and dirty sax lines. Sax pops up on "Brave Exhibitions" as well, providing a meaty partner to the lead guitar on circular, descending scales that bring some weirdness to a straight-up rocker. Things begin to get slightly more strange and troubled as the record plays on: "The Voice" and "Somebody's Watching" are filled with a paranoid mania and creepy, memorable musical phrases that make them two of "Door, Door"'s highlights. (The lead guitar parts in the latter song make it seem as if Rowland Howard spent time listening to Television at the wrong speed). And "Roman Roman" is a frenzied schoolyard chant that hints at some of the anarchic pandemonium the group could create on-stage. It's impressive how, even at this early stage, Nick Cave was a confident and unique singer, perfectly aware of the strengths and limitations of his voice; although he's not much for range, he knows how to come across in a scary and theatrical manner that perfectly complements the music. Nowhere is this more apparent than on the band's closing, mournful ballad, "Shivers," an unashamedly melodramatic example of post-adolescent anguish.
