The albums — Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bayou Country, Green River, Willy & the Poor Boys, Cosmo’s Factory and Pendulum, all originally released from 1968-70 —have been remastered and contain B-sides and unreleased studio & live material. The packages artfully recreate the original covers and include previously unpublished photos and new liner notes from veteran music journalists like Ben Fong-Torres and Joel Selvin. Cosmo’s Factory was the fourth and biggest of the string of five Top 10 albums Creedence Clearwater Revival released in 1969 and 1970. Included were “Travelin’ Band,” “Lookin’ Out My Back Door,” “Who’ll Stop the Rain,” “Run Through the Jungle” and covers from Marvin Gaye (CCR’s signature take on “I Heard it Through the Grapevine”), Bo Diddley, Roy Orbison and Arthur “Big Boy” Crudup. Bonus material includes a bare bones, horns-free remake of “Travelin’ Band,” a live version of “Up Around the Bend” from the 1971 European tour, plus an unreleased version of “Born on the Bayou” emanating from the CCR/Booker T & the MGs summit which took place in 1970 at Cosmo’s Factory studio. Notes were penned by Robert Christgau and Joel Selvin. Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?f=B03EDBCW

Salif Keita - Moffou Album : Moffou Artist : Salif Keita Release Date : 2002 Label : Decca Number of Discs: 1 Genre : World Total time : 00:59:16 Total size : 68,5 MB Tracks : 1. Yamore 2. Iniagige 3. Madan 4. Katolon 5. Souvent 6. Moussolou 7. Baba 8. Ana Na Ming 9. Koukou 10. Here @ VBR mp3 Amazon Salif Keita made his name with Rail Band and Les Ambassadeurs, but he gradually veered away from re-Africanized Latin tunes to explore his Mande birthright. Then, in the late 1980s, he released Soro, a potent blend of traditional sources, Western pop, and savvy studio electronica that took the international market by storm. There have been other high points since then, but on Moffou, what went before is consolidated and transformed via the depth and patina of an artist in his prime. The set opens with a slinky, accordion-laced duet between Keita and Cape Verdean diva Cesaria Evora, but quickly moves on to the soulful Malian acoustic ballads that form the heart and soul of this masterpiece. Other tunes recall the insouciant heyday of Paris-posse Afropop, but minus that era's banal production values. Keita's voice is magnificent throughout; alternately silky, sensual, and ethereal, it floats amid Kante Manfila's intuitive settings like incense. --Christina Roden Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=F7WMHIS0

Sharon Isbin Guitar Concertos Album : Guitar Concertos Performer(s) : Sharon Isbin, Lisbon Gulbekian Foundation Orchestra, Muhai Tang, dir. Composer(s): Christopher Rouse, Dun Tan Release date : 2001 Label : Teldec Number of discs : 1 Total size : 102 MB Total time : 00:56:09 Individual track details : Christopher Rouse: Concert de Gaudi for Guitar and Orchestra 1. Allegro 2. Largo sereno 3. Svolazzante Dun Tan: Concerto for Guitar and Orchestra “Yi2” 4. Rubato 5. Adagio 6. Andante agitato 7. Cadenza 8. Ending @ 256 Kbit/s mp3 *********** Sharon Isbin knows how to pick classical guitar works just about as well as she knows how to play them (which is to say, exceptionally well). On her Grammy Award-winning Dreams of a World, she explored folksy classical guitar works from around the world. On this disc, the music of two guitar concerto world premieres is less-familiar and just as exciting. Christopher Rouse's Concerto de Gaudi for Guitar and Orchestra is rooted in the Spanish idiom, but it has numerous twists and turns. Isbin gets plenty of tricky solo flights here, but the piece also features some truly explosive brass and percussion moments reminiscent of orchestral works by Ives and Revueltas. Tan Dun's commission for Isbin is less structured; there's plenty of improvisation where the guitarist is required to use tremolo to make her instrument sound like a Chinese lute, or p'i-p'a. Again, you'll hear the influence of Spanish composers, though you never lose the influence of Eastern tonalities in Tan Dun's Impressionistic work. It's a fantastic showcase for Isbin's talents, though not necessarily a piece you'll want to hear every day. These live recordings boast great sonics, and the Gulbenkian Orchestra is in fine form. --Jason Verlinde Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?f=EE49CR7F

Morena de los Ojos negros 12. Preguntitas a Dios @ 224 Kbit/s mp3 Biography by John Bush The best and longest preserved of the Mexican cancion ranchera singers, Chavela Vargas began singing rather late in life — past the age of thirty — but continued well into old age, charming audiences until she was well into her 70s. Born in Costa Rica in 1919, she first sang on a professional level in the early '50s, and toured with the legendary José Alfredo Jiménez. Her first recordings appeared in 1961, and she became quite popular during the 1960s and '70s, both in her native land as well as across the ocean in Spain and Europe. Although she retired in 1979, a victim of alcoholism, Vargas returned in 1990 after accepting a role in the Werner Herzog film A Cry of Stone. One year later, she contributed a song to the soundtrack of Tacones Lejanos, and in 1993 she entered a recording studio for the first time in decades. Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=19ZQE6PY

La Peregrinacion 11. Los Peces 12. Nosotros 13. Cuando vivas conmigo (bonus track) @ 128 Kbit/s mp3 In the late 1950s and early 1960s in Mexico, singer Chavela Vargas dressed in men’s clothes, drank and smoked cigars like any man, carried a gun with her, and was notorious for her love of women. Some even say that she once kidnapped a woman at gunpoint, but Vargas denies that rumor. However, she doesn’t deny that she gained her slight limp from jumping out of a window because a woman disappointed her in love. If that’s true, Vargas in her youth was every bit as romantic as the music she sang. A legend in Mexican ranchera music—traditional folk music filled with lusty songs about women and romance and heartbreak—Vargas publicly came out as a lesbian in 2000 at the age of 81, the same year she was awarded Spain’s Great Cross of Isabel la Católica, the country’s highest honor for artistic production. Speaking to Madrid’s El País newspaper in October 2000, Vargas declared, “I’ve had to fight to be myself and to be respected. I'm proud to carry this stigma and call myself a lesbian. I don't boast about it or broadcast it, but I don't deny it. I've had to confront society and the Church, which says that homosexuals are damned. That's absurd. How can someone who's born like this be judged? I didn't attend lesbian classes. No one taught me to be this way. I was born this way, from the moment I opened my eyes in this world. I've never been to bed with a man. Never. That's how pure I am; I have nothing to be ashamed of. My gods made me the way I am.” Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=QP4T2CEW

Chavela Vargas con el cuarteto Lara Foster Album: Chavela Vargas con el cuarteto Lara Foster Artist: Chavela Vargas Label: RCA Victor Genre: Ranchera Time: 00:40:46 Total size: 93,7 MB Tracks: 01. No volvere 02. Desdeñosa 03. La Llorona 04. Las niñas Isabel 05. Rayando el Sol 06. El dia que me dijiste 07. Manzanita 08. Un Mundo Raro 09. Paloma Negra 10. Golondrina Viajera 11. La Charrasca 12. Adios Paloma @320 Kbit/s mp3 In the late 1950s and early 1960s in Mexico, singer Chavela Vargas dressed in men’s clothes, drank and smoked cigars like any man, carried a gun with her, and was notorious for her love of women. My gods made me the way I am.” Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E95350HN

Tenho Uma Saia Rodada @ 224 Kbit/s mp3 Born in South Africa to Portuguese parents, Katia went to the Portuguese Azores islands when she was still a child. In 1994 she went to Lisbon where she studied medicine at the University of Lisbon. Her first contact with music started in the Azores where she played the traditional instrument of the islands, "viola da terra" (typical instrument of the island), in a folk group of São Miguel Island. In Lisbon she founded a musical group of students where she played and sang and also integrated a rock band with music from the 1960s - "Os Charruas" - as their lead vocalist. It was with all her musical friends, from folk to the rock band, that she found Fado. It was in 2000 in a concert in the Coliseu de Lisboa in memory to Amália Rodrigues that she embraced her career in Fado. Her first album, "Fado Maior", was edited in 2001. This album went on to become a silver album and was nominated to the José Afonso Prize. It was edited in Europe by Empreinte Digitale. In 2003 "Nas Mãos do Fado" ("In the Hands of Fate"), her second album, was once more nominated for the José Afonso Prize. In this album she sang the poetry of most important names in Portugal such as Luís de Camões, Florbela Espanca, José Carlos Ary dos Santos and António Lobo Antunes. In October 2005 Katia released her third album of originals, "Tudo ou nada" ("All or Nothing") which included poems by Vinicius de Moraes, Sophia de Mello Breyner, António Lobo Antunes among others, as well as of Katia herself. Bernardo Sassetti played the piano in the song "Minha Senhora das Dores". Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MC2V5YCP

Dedicatoria @ 192Kbit/s mp3 Amazon.com: This disc is obviously aimed at the world-music audience, if one judges from its title and the subtitle, "Folk-Inspired Music for Guitar." But that shouldn't dissuade listeners interested in more serious music. Isbin has collected original pieces and arrangements from Spain, Latin America, Appalachia, Ireland, Israel, and Greece--all of them quite lovely. It's really amazing to hear, for example, the "Londonderry Air," better known as "Danny Boy," in such a sympathetic arrangement by the late Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu. She plays with such technical mastery that you wind up taking it for granted, while appreciating her songful delivery of this highly varied program of music, which was mostly first intended for the human voice. The uncommonly attractive booklet, including photos of Isbin as a world traveler, is another asset to this fine program, as is Teldec's realistic recorded sound . --Leslie Gerber Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=D88FZR7I
