Chaconne, arr for guitar @ 256 Kbit/s mp3 Amazon.com essential recording This collection of Baroque music consists of works by a composer that Segovia ceaselessly promoted throughout his career: J.S. Bach. As his compatriot Pablo Casals's performances of the Bach cello suites added so much to the great composer's reputation, Segovia's performances of Bach's lute suites and other works greatly enhanced the public's perception of the Leipzig master as the most "universal" of composers. His playing imbues Bach's music with a very special warmth and humanity. This disc is one of the most important and rewarding in the Segovia discography. --David Hurwitz Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=IXABB2J4 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZP2HV35E

The albums — Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bayou Country, Green River, Willy & the Poor Boys, Cosmo’s Factory and Pendulum, all originally released from 1968-70 —have been remastered and contain B-sides and unreleased studio & live material. The packages artfully recreate the original covers and include previously unpublished photos and new liner notes from veteran music journalists like Ben Fong-Torres and Joel Selvin. Willy & The Poor Boys came out in 1969, when, as annotator Ed Ward writes, “a period when Creedence, surely the most anomalous band in the San Francisco explosion of the late ‘60s, was also proving its most commercial seller of them all.” The album contains the anthemic “Fortunate Son” along with “Down on the Corner” and a cover of the traditional folk song “The Midnight Special.” Bonus tracks include live versions of “Fortunate Son” and “It Came Out of the Sky,” plus an unreleased studio version of “Down on the Corner” recorded with Booker T & the MGs for a TV special at the band’s Berkeley rehearsal hall. The song features John Fogerty trading licks with guitar hero Steve Cropper. Liner notes by music journalists Ed Ward and Joel Selvin. Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?f=FSHHKM3P

Allegro molto e con fuoco (Rasch und feurig) @ FLAC Channel Classics presents the world premiere recording of Dejan Lazic s arrangement for piano and orchestra of Johannes Brahms beloved violin concerto. Recorded live with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra led by Robert Spano, the work s creation was driven by two major inspirations. One was keyboard arrangements of violin concertos by Bach and Beethoven that were penned by the composers and the other was Brahms own countless arrangements and transcriptions of his and other composers works. Although Lazic completely re-wrote and re-thought the solo part, penning it in a clearly recognizable Brahmsian style and adding his own cadenza, the orchestral score remains entirely unchanged. Ultimately, Lazic s goal was to translate Brahms s unique musical language into a new setting without losing any of its original musical value and, in addition,to give pianists an equal chance to perform and enjoy this wonderful music. After hearing it, you will agree that there is a strong possibility that his goal will come to fruition. Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?f=3BZ55FCL

Se @ APE The debut album from Rokia Traore, a Malian singer with ties to the nobility of the country, which would in general forbid her from making forays into music. Despite this, she began with this album, a beautiful showpiece of her vocal prowess. Her voice moves from fragility to power within seconds seamlessly. Perhaps more important is the manner in which she attempts to blend traditional sounds with modern techniques. The balafon and ngoni take first positions among the instruments, and at the same time, the occasional modern mixing technique takes the vocals (a couple of tracks of Traore simultaneously) soaring above the rest of the ensemble. The interplay of the balafon and the ngoni in and of itself is a worthwhile thing to hear, with the low notes of one mixing with the high notes of the other wonderfully. Traore's vocals are vaguely stereotypical for Malian songstresses, but are certainly in the top class of the available talent. Pick it up for a nice look at the range of sound available to a singer versed in the modern, the foreign, and the traditional of Malian music. ~ Adam Greenberg Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?f=E1IIC68A

Ali Farka Toure Album : Ali Farka Toure Artist : Ali Farka Toure Release Date : 1988 Label : Mango Number of Discs: 1 Genre : World Total time : 00:58:02 Total size : 80 MB Tracks : 1. Timbarma 2. Singya 3. Nawiye 4. Bakoytereye 5. Tchigi Fo 6. Amanddrai 7. Kadi Kadi 8. Yulli 9. Bakoye 10. Amandrai Live @ 192 Kbit/s mp3 Amazon.com essential recording This self-titled debut is an amazing collection, spotlighting the Malian guitarist in his full solo acoustic glory for a beautiful, intimate music that recalls American blues. The beauty of Ali Farka Toure lives in Toure's light, nimble touch on the strings as well as his flexible, reedy voice, which both perfectly complement his gentle, ambling rhythmic style. Tastier highlights include the cantering "Tchigi Fo," with haunting call-and-response sung in Songhai, and the oddly pastoral "Kadi Kadi," a sweet folk song about an encounter with a young woman and her gift of a gold chain. The Arabic praise song "Bakoye" is a comely love song that pulses with Ali's low, bubbling fingerpicking over which his voice soars in a lovely bucolic melody. "Amandrai," in both a studio and live version, is the kind of bluesy tune that's made Toure famous and earned him comparisons to Lightnin' Hopkins and John Lee Hooker. And in later releases, we indeed witness the Malian master collaborating with such Western artists as the Chieftains and Taj Mahal, but this loner of a debut features the guitarist's talents in a quietly understated, purely African light. --Karen Karleski Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=2MPAJDCR

Sull lull (16:49) 2. Madar (11:12) 3. Sebika (5:29) 4. Bahia (10:17) 5. Ramy (2:57) 6. Jaw (8:01) 7. Joron (6:26) 8. Qaws (15:07) 9. Epilogue (0:52) @ FLAC Yet more musings from the ever-prosperous repertoire of JanGarbarek, here in minimalist world music mode and accompanied by oud player Anouar Brahem and Ustad Shaukat Hussain on tabla. At times suggestive of a simplistic Oregon or some ofthe more sedate offerings of Rabih Abou-Khalil, MADAR is richly steeped in Middle Eastern authenticity and textural folklore. The album's rudimentary nature renders it fairly reflective of the indigenous cultures it takes delight in spotlighting. "Bahia" doesn't feature Garbarek at all but is a rhythmless lullaby dominated by Brahem's oud. Sands shift and parched winds blow when all three players merge on atmospheric, extended jams such as "Qaws", where Garbarek's rural air becomes a nomadic cry trapped within an intertwined mantra of percussion and strings. MADAR offers more signs of intelligent life beyond the traditional jazz diaspora. Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?f=ZS4UQTUM

    Paolo Conte

Paolo Conte Appunti di Viaggio Album : Appunti di Viaggio Artist : Paolo Conte Release Date : 1981 Genre : Jazz Total time : 00:35:20 Total size : 64,7 MB Tracks : 1. Fuga All'inglese - (Italian) 2. Dancing 3. Gioco D'Azzardo 4. Lo Zio 5. Hemingway 6. Diavolo Rosso 7. La Frase 8. Nord @ 256 Kbit/s mp3 Another stylish release from Paolo Conte, 1982's Appunti Di Viaggio offers little in the way of surprises, but more than compensates with Conte's customary class to spare. At this time in his career, Conte was an established star in Italy, both as a composer and a live performer, and was soon to achieve international renown touring in Europe. While Appunti Di Viaggio does not include any major hits such as "Via con Me" or "Bartali," most of the material on this album would become concert staples. Indeed, rather than concise pop songs, these eight pieces are freer, jazzy ruminations that would ultimately benefit from a looser, more energetic live approach. Still, even in the original form presented in this collection, Conte standards such as "Fuga All'inglese," "Hemingway," "Diavolo Rosso," or "Lo Zio" offer ample evidence of their creator's exquisite musical vision. ~ Mariano Prunes Download: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=KV6XMQR5
